The Montemar Palace hotel is a 4-star hotel, designed to cater for the high standards of the new millennium with its modern design, equipment and spacious leisure areas. It is located in a rural area (60km/ 50 minutes away from the airport by car), overlooking the crystal clear Atlantic ocean and the beautiful ‘Laurissilva’ forest on the north coast of the island of Madeira. The hotel is set in an area of absolute silence, with lovely surroundings and magnificent views in a sub-tropical climate with an average temperature of 19ºC.

What was the highlight of Monte Mar Palace Hotel
Very Good
The place has stunning views, and our room was comfortable and clean, allowing us to have a restful stay. The staff were also very friendly.
Like many people have already written, the hotel needs renovation. Our room was nice, but the corridor (especially the floor carpet), pool, and spa facilities are in horrible condition. I would only return after renovation. The breakfast was also disappointing. Out of the six other places we stayed in Madeira, it was probably the worst in terms of taste and choice.

Very Good
Nice place with great view of the see and also close to small village. If you are traveling with a car its a good starting point to explore other places of interest and also to have a walking tour.
perhaps a bit change of breakfast, but on other hand everything was availible.

What was the highlight of Monte Mar Palace Hotel
Ocean view
Lovely hotel with ocean view. Location is convenient to explore the North (east and west) of the island. Room was very big and cosy, classical style. Excellent breakfast and helpful staff. Very quick and efficient laundry service. Parking available in the garage and/or in close proximity.
The only minus I can think of is the hairdryer, pretty slow I really recommend this place.

The location is amazing , the ocean view from our from was great!
The breakfast was not great, few choices. The room carpet was dirty. The staff was not very nice
